We recently wrapped up an incredible new build in collaboration with Hicks Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. Projects like this one are why we love what we do — combining craftsmanship, design, and high-quality materials to create spaces that feel both timeless and unique.

Hardwood That Brings It All Together

For this home, Refine Tile & Design supplied and installed all of the hardwood flooring using one of our favorite lines, Riva Spain Flooring. Known for its exceptional quality and contemporary European styling, Riva Spain offers a clean, natural look that works beautifully across any design style. The warm tones and smooth finish of this collection bring a cohesive feel throughout the entire home.

Texture, Pattern, and Detail in Tile

Beyond the hardwoods, we also provided and installed tile throughout the home, and this project gave us the chance to play with a lot of texture and pattern. The homeowners wanted surfaces that had visual interest without feeling overdone — something that added personality while staying true to a modern, refined aesthetic.

One standout detail is the kitchen backsplash, featuring a glossy herringbone tile. It’s a classic layout with a fresh twist — the reflective surface catches the light perfectly, adding depth and dimension to the kitchen space.

In this recent Refine project, we had the pleasure of sourcing and providing floor-to-ceiling hand-painted Delft Blue tile straight from the Netherlands, bringing a touch of European artistry to a bright coastal home.

Each tile in this space is unique — individually painted by artisans who carry on a centuries-old Dutch tradition. The delicate blue patterns add warmth and soul, balancing beautifully with the kitchen’s natural wood tones, brass details, and clean white finishes.

What makes this installation special isn’t just the tile itself, but how it transforms the entire feel of the room. The handcrafted quality and subtle imperfections create a sense of depth and authenticity that only handmade materials can offer. One of the standout combinations we've recently featured in the showroom is a shower design that pairs handcrafted zellige tile with natural stone accents—a look brought to life by designer Kasey Smith and builder Corey Thompson. The glossy, organic texture of zellige tiles creates a lively, light-catching surface, while the grounded tone of stone adds balance and structure.

In this project, subtle color variation in the zellige provides depth, while stone is used thoughtfully in accent features like the shower bench and niche. The mix feels both timeless and modern—perfect for those looking to blend artisanal texture with a natural, understated palette.
